Dear Evchen!
We received your letter dated the 4th and can tell how everyone is doing. I certainly hope that the apartment will rent soon. We wouldn't really know what to do otherwise. We are eagerly awaiting letters from Fritz.
Thank God your possessions are now ready, and, dear Evchen, don't let your heart get heavy ahead of time (?). We hope and wish from all our hearts that you will get the visa on the 5th. If you went to the Netherlands first, how would you get your visa there? Are Schiffs still in Berlin? Have you been exchanging letters with them? We have not received any mail from Gartenbergs.
Yesterday, we received notice from Stanislau that the mailed package is there, and once we send proof there, it will be sent to the post office here.
I think we will receive it by the end of next week. We are very happy! We hope to receive the package that was sent via rail soon, too. Dear Evchen, Gisel asks you to send her two pairs of glasses with the next package + Papas monocle, which is in a vase near the addition. It might fit into the Gisel's glasses case.
You may want to ask Mrs. Mann again. The young woman who wanted the feathers and had so many expenses because she bought a radio. Perhaps she can buy now. Give the feathers to her for a bit less. Tell her you are selling them under price because you are dissolving [a household]. Do you want to sell them for 50-60 marks? We had asked 80 marks back then.
Sell the radio to Mr. Steiner and let him pay you 40 marks (maybe 35).
Side and bottom: If Mrs. Mann calls, please tell her that Heinz will receive a letter early next week and she should tell him that J. wrote to Charlie.
But he can give you 40 marks. I am very upset about your pay. One blow after another. Now regarding Mrs. Abr., dear Evchen, don't let them take advantage of you. You have so much to take care of yourself and so many errands to run that no one can expect you to help others too much. Give my regards to all who are sending their regards to me. Did I write that Isi(?) sent 100 Zloty to all of us together? But please don't tell Mrs. Abr. about this. ??? We are sorry about Erich and hope he can still get there to start his job.
We hope you can sell more items. If you send more things and laundry, include some older curtains and panels. I want to hang something on the windows. We have paper panels.
??? behind my laundry or bedding was my chamois, wrapped in paper. Use it to clean ??? and then include it for me. I want Gisel to wash the windows some time soon. Now, my Evchen, enough for today. Hopefully this issue will be resolved for you soon. Otherwise, we will have to figure out exactly what to do with the furniture and the landlord.
And something else. I would like to give something to Grete. I thought a crystal bowl or a Lüffer(?) vase. The smaller bowl, the serrated one, or the large vase. Take what you think is right. –
I could use the dark, fringed blanket from the study. But now I will really close.
